A folding machine is a critical piece of front-end equipment in any facial tissue production line. Its primary job is to cut and interfold jumbo roll paper into neat stacks of a specific size and sheet count.
These stacks are then transferred to a log saw and a packaging machine to be processed into the single bags of facial tissue we use every day.
A high-quality, fully automatic folding machine is key to producing premium tissue products with maximum efficiency and minimal manpower.
Core Components and the Folding Process
MY Machinery’s fully automatic high-speed tissue folding machine is built from several key units working in sequence:
- Paper Loading Rear Rack & Unwinding Rack: The process begins here, where a cylinder-controlled loading arm lifts the heavy jumbo roll into place, greatly reducing manual labor.
- Embossing Unit (Optional): If configured, the paper passes through this unit first.
- Cutting & Folding Units: This is the heart of the machine.
- Counting & Paper Output Unit: This unit prepares the folded stacks for the next stage.
The jumbo roll is driven by a servo motor and guided through a series of rollers that ensure it feeds smoothly into the machine. It is then pulled into the cutting and folding unit by vacuum suction. A transverse cutting blade roller cuts the paper, which is immediately interfolded between two folding rollers to create the familiar V-shape fold using a combination of suction and deflation.
Automated Counting and Output
Once the number of folded paper sheets reaches a preset count, the counting device triggers a lifting platform to drop sharply. This separates the completed stack, which is then moved by a fork onto the paper delivery platform. From here, the stack of semi-finished paper tissues is automatically transported to the next process for cutting and packaging.
Optional: The Embossing Unit
For a more premium product, an embossing device can be added. This unit presses the raw paper between an intricately patterned embossing roller and an embossing bottom roller. This process creates a clear, unique pattern that makes the paper feel softer, thicker, and more aesthetically pleasing.
Key Specifications and Features
Our tissue folding machine is designed for both high performance and ease of use.
- Paper Compatibility: Can adapt to raw paper with a weight of 13-18 gsm.
- Production Speed: Reaches a high speed of 90-130m/min.
- Simple Operation: Adjustments for different raw materials, speed changes, and starting or stopping the machine can all be controlled from a single, user-friendly operation panel.
- Remote Support: In the event of an electrical fault during operation, we can implement a remote connection to help you troubleshoot the issue in a timely manner.
Conclusion
Through the advanced features outlined above, we believe our machines are the best choice for any business looking to configure a new facial tissue production and converting line.
